Plain Jane - My New Fave Show
Behold!!! I think I may have unearthed a new TV gem! After being a huge hit across the pond, Plain Jane is a show that takes a girl who lacks confidence and a proper fashion sense and introduces her to some confidence techniques including some extreme sports and adrenaline-pumping activities such as bungee jumping and even swimming with sharks. They are also each given brand new makeovers consisting of a shopping trip, a brand new wardrobe as well as a fancy new hairdo. However, it does not stop there as it turns out that each girl has a secret crush that they are keen to impress, unbeknownst to him of course. After the makeover, they are set up on a blind date in an exotic location in which the girl gets the opportunity to showcase her brand new look and now has the opportunity to utilise her new-found dating skills and self-confidence in order to try and impress him and see where things go from there. Sounds very exciting indeed! Already an addict! I am also quite appalled that I had never heard of the show before! It is more than a makeover show and takes the girls on a journey of self-discovery and helps them find their own identity rather than being something completely gratuitous and consisting of just going shopping.
The show is hosted by Brit-based-in-LA fashion journalist, TV presenter, star of The City and all-round fashionista Louise Roe who shows off an impressive, enviable wardrobe during the show. My new style icon I think. Eclectic, laid-back, and very bright - she sure loves her colour and prints. Think the LA/ California girl bohemian chic mixed with the edginess of London style.

- Outfit 1 - A hidden gem for Autumn 2011 (or Fall 2011 for all of you Americans who read this) is the star print trend, seen predominantly on the Dolce and Gabbana A/W 2011 catwalks. A fun, quirky and playful pattern, this stunning dress from Topshop can be teamed with sexy neutral, earthy tones such as the burgundy boots and tights can stop it from looking too cartoony/panto character and a lot more grown up. This is next on my shopping list. This outfit therefore screams autumnal chic!!
- Outfit 2 - I am sooo in love with this sexy asymmetric dress!! It gives the best of both worlds if you can't decide whether to where a mini dress or a maxi dress, so with this dress, you can kill two birds with one stone with dress as it shows off those sexy pins but tones down the sexiness with the train at the back. For maximum effect, team with colourful accessories or nail polish to real create a cutting-edge, fashionable look. These bright blue heels fit the bill completely and teamed with the red nail polish gives that extra 'Ooomph!'
- Outfit 3 - Something cool, casual and chic, this fringed shrug creates the ultimate bohemian feel and it can be dressed down OR dressed up. Here's a perfect example of it being dressed down with an embellished tee and jeans and the red feather earrings add the extra pop of colour.
- Outfit 4 - A bit more on the pricey side but at the same time these pieces are absolutely irresistible. This black and white polka dot dress is cute and bold and the Lulu Guinness Lips clutch (which I am completely obsessed with!!!) adds a pop of bright pink and takes the outfit to a whole new level - perfect for the party season!!! If you're not brave enough to wear a pair of a shoes in a clashing colour then these silver platforms from Topshop are the best alternative and give a party feel. This necklace also adds a 1950s vibe to the outfit and gives Sandra Dee a run for her money!! It really is adorable and is also playful. Add a pair of plain stud earrings and then you're good to go!!
