The X Factor Live Show Week 3 - The Round Up

Big hair, big egos, big voices, big arguments, big performances...this can only mean one thing: Rock Week! So it is time to find out who was on fire and who was fizzling out in the frying pan. Which acts completely headbanged their way through tonight's show and which ones are just a piece of trash on the floor in a rockstar's hotel room? Feel the heat, embrace the madness, devour the drama, it's time to have a look back at this weeks serving of the X Factor live show...

  • The ever-so-lovely Janet Devlin gave a unique rendition of Sweet Child O' Mine which was very soft, very mellow and had a very acoustic sound. She reminded me a lot of Florence and the Machine and I feel that she definitely delivered a strong performance. She showed a lot more stage presence than she did in her previous performances where looking back I thought she was quite static.
  • Marcus Collins also delivered and really came into his own this week. He just keeps on getting better and better and he has so much more to give. He also looked like he had an amazing time with those female dancers up there too! He has the whole package!
  • I thought Gary was a bit harsh on Sami this week when he called her 'boring'.She sang Cher's most iconic songs If I Could Turn Back Time and proved that she had a powerful voice but whether she'll go all the way in the competition can only be decided by the general public out there. Gary was also whimpering 'someone down there is swearing  at me' like an incompetent schoolteacher! Man up, Gary!! Anyways, Sami isn't being mentored properly I don't think, Louis is cheapening her...
  • Things got very fiery when Kitty took to the stage with her rendition of Live and Let Die. She sang her heart out and got a lot of positive feedback from the judges!
  • Misha B blew the audience away with her rendition of Prince's most iconic song Purple Rain but things later got tense on the panel when Misha was accused of bullying by Tulisa and Louis. It was slightly unfair that she is being judged on that and should definitely have been a private matter. The atmosphere was so tense that you could just cut it with a butcher's knife. The X Factor just got bitchy...
  • Sophie also delivered a great performance and looked gorgeous. Her rendition of Living on A Prayer was somewhat interesting, I suppose. She has an amazing voice but unfortunately, it was a slightly forgettable performance and needs something that really shows off her personality and help launch her as an artist. At least she is being herself, as Tulisa says and not being too pretentious unlike some of the other contestants.
  • Rhythmix came out with their very own rock remix version of Ke$ha's Tik Tok, which caused a huge debate amongst the judges as to whether it was a rock or pop song and thought that the girls may have been "cheating" and ignored the brief. But seriously, since when does a Ke$ha song with a few guitar riffs class as a rock song?! On the other hand, they were feisty and totally kicked ass on that stage.
  • Time for Male Adele, erm, I mean, erm, Craig Colton who took a break from singing all of the "diva" songs with an Oasis classic Stop Crying Your Heart Out. Noel Gallagher would be proud, or his kids I should say.
  • Hubble bubble, toil and trouble it's Russell Brand-pre-Katy-Perry, Frankie  Cockyozza Cocozza. After the VT of him pulling a multitude of girls, you cannot help but wander what exactly he wants out of this competition. Sell a million records or catch/spread a million STDs? After the diabolical performance of Coldplay's The Scientist, he was lucky to have been saved.. Even Gary admitted that he was wrong to defend him and saw how bad the performance was for himself! Frankie 'bounced back' but it seems like he may be in trouble again this week. Sorry, even after the OTT pre-performance walk on stage thing wasn't enough. Not convinced.
  • The Risk totally brought it tonight, despite not being so rocky. They put their own spin on Crazy, which went down a storm and they look like they are starting to gel really well as a group.
  • Johnny also showed signs of improvement after being moulded into a drag act in the previous weeks as he delivered quite a shockingly good performance of I Believe in A Thing Called Love. Very eccentric but only he could deliver that song that night. He even had a bit of banter with Gary that night about fashion senses. He hit back at Gary after Gary ridiculed his tin foil silver suit asking if he got it from Argos! Johnny bit back by claiming that it came from Gary's wardrobe  Funny indeed!!!
