The X Factor Live Show Week 2 - The Round Up

A little late but we shall continue. After the X Factor had turned into the Shock Factor yet again after four contestants were eliminated by the judges, it was business as usual this week. What was particularly shocking was that Amelia left as I though she completely owned her performance the previous night and absolutely blew the roof off! She had the most powerful voice out of the whole competition and it was the saddest thing ever to see her go. As for the rest of them it was time for them to up the ante as the pressure was on like a Bonbon where they had to sing their little hearts out for their chance at a life-changing career move. With the theme of love and heartbreak, there were about to be some hearts broken as the fate of these contestants was left in the safe hands of the British public....

  • Frankie was a big fat disappointment as he proved to be struggling big time with his rendition of The Scientist by Coldplay. He seemed to have lost his edge and his spark as the song proved to be far too big for him to handle and resulted to him being in real trouble the following night.
  • Kitty also proved to be popular with her rendition of Bjork's It's Oh So Quiet which is one of the most annoying songs of all time. However, I did notice something. Was it me or did the whole stage production and performance remind me of Gwen Stefani's What You Waiting For video and performance at the MTV EMAs 2004 with the whole Alice in Wonderland theme? I kinda think Kitty still needs to find out who she is as an artist. Wonder what she's gonna do next week...
  • Also, may I ask, what the hell has Louis done to Johnny?! Turned him into a drag act?! After singing Kylie's Can't Get You Out of My Head, it seems that unfortunately, Johnny isn't being looked after properly and is being reduced to a joke act, the next Wagner, and it clearly wasn't working. And why on earth did he randomly shout 'Vogue' right at the end of the performance?! Was he singing Madonna? Was he singing Kylie? It would be good to just see what he is really capable of rather than being more style than substance and hiding behind all of the gimmicks. I can definitely see that he is not another Wagner or Jedward as he does have some real talent but we are yet to see it, Maybe next week, hopefully...
  • Sophie, looking as beautiful as ever, also shone like a star where she sang the Calling's Wherever You Will Go. I felt that she definitely did the song justice.
  • Misha B absolutely killed it on stage even though I didn't get the whole outfit which looked a bit like MC Hammer mishmashed with Grace Jones. I therefore found it completely hilarious when MC Hammer started trending on Twitter after the show. Misha proved to be a true artist yet again where she came out with her very own unique rendition of Would I Lie To You and once again proved that she was a force to be reckoned with in the competition.
  • Craig aka Male Adele also impressed with Woman of the Moment Beyonce's recent smash hit Best Thing I Never Had which was rather impressive and will also be in the competition for a long time. He is also very versatile where he put his very own spin on an R&B hit so very well done to him...
  • Marcus, one of my favourites in the competition, also impressed where he took a break from the usual lively, uptempo tunes and took it down with a rather interesting rendition of Rihanna's Russian Roulette and didn't disappoint. I am really glad he managed to stay in the competition. He has so much more to give.
  • Janet also melted hearts everywhere with her beautiful singing voice where she sang an Elvis classic. She just keeps getting better and better.
  • Sami also blew he judges away with her rendition of Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You. Come on, now! What would be Love and Heartbreak without a bit of Whitney Houston! She has a powerful voice, even if it was slightly bordering on being a cruise ship singer...
  • Nu Vibe were also a slight disappointment after their performance underwhelmed the judges and they were consequently labelled 'No Vibe' by both Gary and Louis, which was a bit harsh I have to admit...
  • Rhythmix once again proved they were the queens of cool with their own original-sounding version of Nelly Furtado's I'm Like a Bird, which had a completely different arrangement and they totally smashed it!!
  • The Risk proved to be a risk that has successfully paid off with the typical boyband staging with the stools. Their version of Just The Way You are was awesome!!!
