Book Review - Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami

Book Review - Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami

Named after a Beatles song, this novel is a heart-rending coming-of-age story which has been called Japan’s answer to Catcher in the Rye, and a definite must-have on your bookshelves.

It is a poignant tale about love, loss, relationships and the search for identity that is bound to make you laugh, cry and move you in ways like no other story has before. A film adaptation has been released and
was mainly shown in independent cinemas, so be sure to check it out. It may disappoint or entertain but either way it is definitely worth watching as it is interesting to see how this beautifully written story sets out to captivate fans in a screen adaptation.

For those of  you with an interest in Japanese culture, this is a great starting point.
